Jpod

Great for couples, those on a budget and first time caravanners, the JPod is set to make its mark on the RV scene.

Modelled along the lines of the historic Teardrop Caravan this compact, stylish and ever-so-cosy minnow is a standout in Jayco’s 2015 range of RVs.

The moulded fibreglass body shell is mounted on a hot dipped galvanised steel chassis and comes with 13” alloy wheels and spare tyre. A roof rack can be added as an option to carry bikes, surf boards, fishing rods etc.

Weighing in with a ball weight of 42kg, tare weight of just 490kg and 749kg ATM, the JPod doesn’t need electric brakes and can be easily towed by most vehicles.
Gas struts open the rear door to reveal a host of standard features including a 12 volt LED light, lift up double bed with innerspring mattress, two push-out, double glazed tinted windows with inbuilt blinds, a roof hatch to maximise air flow, neat but ample storage space and a fire extinguisher too.

At the side there’s a sizeable storage space big enough to stock a barbeque, fishing gear and other on-the-road equipment.

The large optional weatherproof, rear tented sleeve can be thoughtfully used as an awning, dining or lounging area or to comfortably accommodate a few extra guests.

Options include a large tent section, roof rack, bike racks, storage box with gas ring and sizeable toolbox

Barbeque guru Bob Hart has his own customised model, the Jayco Grill Pod, a dedicated travelling recreational kitchen that houses his three Weber barbeques, cooking equipment and is used at his cooking shows around the country.

The petite Jayco JPod also comes with a tiny price tag. At under $10,000 you could even pay for it on your credit card!
